Tourism stakeholder faults multiple taxes

The Acting Manager, Swiss International D’Palms Airport Hotel, Lagos, Mr Idowu Adejumo, has described multiple taxes and other charges by government as the bane of hospitality sector’s growth.

He called on government at all levels to intervene, saying the tourism industry was capable of providing employment opportunities for the teeming youth.

Adejumo appealed to the government to consider the challenges of employers of labour and revisit the issue of multiple taxes.

He noted that the hospitality sector could contribute greatly to the nation’s growth through job creation if encouraged by the government.

He said that all arrangements had been concluded for the unveiling of the Swiss International D’Palms Airport Hotel on Thursday, February 14.

“We are three-star hotel offering luxury services in its serene environment. We are strictly a business class. The 106 hotel rooms are embedded with fascinating facilities such as the aerobic, dancing class, swimming pool, gym section among others,” he added.
