Zidane continues to push for Pogba transfer but Real Madrid have their doubts

by editor

Zinedine Zidane has made no secret about his admiration for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, as he looks to push Real Madrid towards the signature of his fellow Frenchman.

However, the upper echelons of Los Blancos have their doubts due to the financial complications of the deal.

While the pursuit of Eden Hazard appears to be in advanced stages, the same rush to seal a move for Pogba has not been witnessed.

The main obstacle is the financial aspect of the deal which could easily surpass 200 million euros between the transfer fee to Manchester United and Pogba‘s wage demands, which Real Madrid are not willing to meet.

Madrid are aware that Pogba is keen to join, but the player must take a significant wage cut from the 18 million euros net he makes at Old Trafford.

The next step is to convince United to let him go, an issue which the player himself will have to force if he wants to move to the Spanish capital.

United will not let Pogba go for less than 150 million euros, a sum that Madridconsider excessive but could be willing to pay should the player dramatically lower his wage demands and if Zidane insists on the move.
