Williams is worth an estimated $225 million, according to Forbes.

Apart from making $29 million (R420 million) last year from endorsement deals with Nike and investment bank JPMorgan Chas, the 23-time Grand Slam winner has invested in 34 startup companies over the past five years, Forbes reports.

“I want to be a part of it,” Serena told the mag. “I want to be in the infrastructure. I want to be the brand instead of just being the face.”

The mom of one also revealed that she often turns to her husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian (36), for business advice, Stuff NZ reports.

“I’ve been really leaning on Alexis,” she said.

Serena also earns twice as much as any other sportswoman, USA Today reports.

“I’m in no rush to get out of this sport,” Serena said.

“I want to create a brand that has longevity, kind of like my career.

“It’s not fancy, it’s not here, it’s not out, it’s not trendy, it’s a staple, like my tennis game.”
