Probe Abiodun, Adebayo’s N10.8bn Diversion— CACOL To EFCC

by editor

The anti-corruption group, Centre for Anti-Corruption and Open Leadership (CACOL), has urged Nigerian anti-graft agencies to investigate allegations of misused public funds made by the ousted chairman of Ijebu East local government, Wale Adedayo, against Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State.

Adedayo claimed that the N10.8 billion Federal Allocation meant for the state’s local governments over the past two years was diverted by Abiodun.

Adedayo was subsequently removed from his position and charged with making false allegations.

CACOL has called on agencies like EFCC and ICPC to examine the funds’ allocation and trace their usage.

They stress the importance of accountability and transparency in handling public finances.

They express concern over the use of state security forces to intimidate Adedayo and call for his protection as a whistleblower.

They emphasised the need for a thorough investigation into the allegations, without disruption to the peace of the state.
