Juice WRLD’s Label Issues Statement on His Tragic Death: “He Was a Gentle Soul”

Juice WRLD has passed away at the age of 21, following a seizure in Chicago’s Midway Airport yesterday, TMZ reports. Following his sudden passing, Interscope Geffen A&M Records, Juice WRLD’s label, has now issued a statement to XXL.

“Juice made a profound impact on the world in such a short period of time. He was a gentle soul, whose creativity knew no bounds, an exceptional human being, and artist who loved and cared for his fans above everything else. To lose someone so kind and so close to our hearts is devastating. Our thoughts are with Juice’s family and friends, everyone at his label Grade A and his millions of fans around the world.”

The “Lucid Dreams” rapper reportedly flew in from California early Sunday morning. Witnesses claim Juice WRLD, real name Jarad Anthony Higgins, suffered a seizure after deplaning while walking through the airport. Law enforcement sources claim he was bleeding from the mouth when paramedics arrived at the scene.

According to reports, Higgins was still conscious when he was rushed to the hospital. However, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. At this moment, the cause of death is unclear.

Juice WRLD rose to fame in 2018 with his song “Lucid Dreams.” He was popular for his role in bringing emo rap to the mainstream alongside counterparts and collaborators like Lil Uzi Vert. In his 2018 song “Legends”, Juice uncannily rapped the line: “What’s the 27 Club? / We ain’t making it past 21.” Following his break-out success last year Interscope signed the rapper for $3 million. He was at the beginning of what promised to become a very successful career. Juice WRLD just turned 21 last Monday.
