Youth for Technology Foundation (YTF) will be hosting 3D Africa’s HackForGood 2018 design and prototyping challenge on the campus of the University of Lagos from August 2nd through the 4th.

HackForGood is a three-day curriculum and contest that will provide 50 young people from across Nigeria with access to cutting-edge technology, instruction, and mentoring to empower them to develop a functional prototype that addresses the real-world needs of their communities. HackforGood focuses on providing university-age students, recent graduates, and early-stage entrepreneurs with the opportunity to develop the world’s next best innovation, transforming the mindset from “Aid to Africa” to “Made in Africa.”

3D Africa HackforGood empowers youth to future-proof themselves by exposing them to emerging technologies like 3D printing, robotics, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things so that they can become the innovators, job creators, and highly skilled employees that the future of work requires.

“With 3D printing skills, my only limitations were in my imagination. Knowing you can develop an idea and get a physical version of that idea immediately is empowering,” said Emmanuel, 3D Africa student.
