Prominent figures from politics and entertainment have gathered to pay their respects to the late Nollywood legend, Mr Amaechi Muonagor, at his funeral in Obosi, Idemili South Local Government Area.
Among those present were Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Party, and Dom Onyenji, the State Commissioner for Culture, Tourism, and Entertainment.
During the solemn ceremony, Obi expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the icon and offered condolences to the grieving family, urging them to find solace in God.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Onyenji highlighted Nollywood’s role as a creative industry and mourned the loss of Muonagor’s influential presence.
The event also saw heartfelt tributes from Emeka Rollas, National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, who assured the family of their support during this difficult time.
Representing him, veteran actor Steve Eboh prayed for strength for the bereaved to cope with their loss.
Similarly, Chinyere Anyaegbunam, AGN State Chairman, honoured Muonagor’s memory as a father figure in the industry, noting his mentorship and huge impact on countless lives within Nollywood.
