In line with the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) resolve to revitalize sports administration globally through good governance, presidents of all Olympic Sports Federations in Nigeria will converge today and tomorrow for a two- day seminar at the Starview Palace Hotel, Abuja.

With ‘‘Governance in Sports’’ as the Theme for the two-day seminar, the resource person from the IOC, Mr. Donald Bakere arrived in Abuja on Tuesday ahead of today’s opening session.

Participants include presidents of all Olympic Sports Federations in Nigeria like athletics, basketball, badminton, boxing, cycling, table tennis, volley ball, hand ball, aquatic sports, wrestling, weightlifting and other institutional sports like NUGA, School Sports and CISM among others.

NOC Secretary General, Tunde Popoola said the seminar promises to be interesting as other topics like ‘leadership in Sports’, Election and Electoral processes and other relevant matters would also be discussed.

NOC President, Habu Gumel said the seminar, which is coming at the right time when considering the forthcoming Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in Australia, coinciding with the NOC’s executive board meeting to update their members regarding the upcoming event for the year 2018, pleaded for prompt attendance.
